Reporting spam and malicious emails via Outlook
Requirements
Your organization must have the add-in app for reporting enabled. This is not on by default. Most Virtutech clients already have this enabled, however if you do not see the report button, contact a member of our support for more information.
Report an Email
1) Select the 'bad' email so you can see it in the viewing pane. Alternately, double click it to open it in a new window. 2) In the toolbar at the top, ensure that 'Home' or 'Message' is selected. (It should be by default) 3) Click or tap on 'Report Message' in the 'Protection' section.
Select Junk if the item is simply spam in nature.
Select Phishing if the item is phishing or attempting to elicit money or gift cards.
Select Not Junk if you’re trying to stop an item from going to your Junk folder (ie you trust the sender).
Alternate Method
You can also report messages via the online interface found here: https://outlook.office365.com
Find the message in your Inbox, right click it and select Report, select the appropriate classification and follow the prompts.
You can also go into Junk and report an item as 'Not Junk'.
